NEW Private currency from FFF! Jabo Stix - based on Plinia/Myrciaria germplasm

Hello to all!

I'm introducing a new form of private currency, called "Jabo Stix", based on the system used in the days of old, called, tally sticks.

They are monetary units, that are in the form of branches of wood (mine will actually be made of Plinia/Myrciaria branches), that have been cut in half, split down the middle.

One haft of the stick is the foil (your half), and the other half of the stick, is my stock, so i can verify your foil matches my stock, and avoid any counterfeit. It's nearly impossible to match the grain of the wood, and i will be cutting notches into the wood to further complicate any counterfeiters efforts.

These sticks have been used since days of old, to keep records, and as money. Now I'm going to be accepting these sticks only, for my newest unreleased varieties of Plinia (and Myrciaria).

 Jabo Stix- (a private currency, based on propagative plant material of Plinias and Myrciarias)

-only redeemable or accepted in USA (and Peurto Rico), shipping will not be outside of these territories.

-may not be altered, futher split, or divided in any way

-if the plant/propagative material designated for your stick is not available at time of redemption, you will be given the option to receive alternative plant/propagative material of an equal or greater value, or a full refund of your purchase price.

-if your stick (foil) is damaged, or lost, please do not panic.  You will be able to instantly cash your foil in for your plant material (based on your digital record of ownership, via ebay and email records), but the stock will be destroyed, and removed from circulation.  You must notify me by email if your foil has been lost or damaged.

-factored into the cost of each stick, is the price of shipping the foil (your half of the stick) via first class mail, or the cheapest method of shipping, both to and from the stock holder (Flying Fox Fruits), so it can be spent, and verified with my stock sticks (my half of the stick).

-Also factored into the price of the Jabo stick is the shipping cost of your scions, via USPS priority mail, from me to your US or PR location, at the time of redemption.

-if you choose to immediately receive your plant material, you can request to have the Jabo Stix stick, destroyed, and your payment (plant material) will be forwarded to you, at your US or PR address, as quickly as possible.  This way, you don't have to ever receive the foil, and deal with holding it, and having to ship it back to me.

-rarest varieties of Plinia and Myrciaria, that have not been released, may only be purchased with Jabo Stix, as issued by Flying Fox Fruits.

What is the benefit of doing this vs. just selling the items straight?

because now these perishable rare items are monetized, and more easily stored, and traded!

you essentially have a promise from me, to deliver, on demand, your scions, to any US or PR address, at any time.

Everything is paid for, by purchasing the stick (shipping costs and packing, etc)

you could sell or trade the stick, and hold it until you see fit.

this is much more versatile, than just having scions or seeds in your fridge...

see now what I mean?

i'm the full time security guard, i got guns, cameras, and dog...even some chickens that alert me to intruders...

I've been planning for years, on how to keep my operation secure...

It's probably one of the worst decisions any one could make, in terms of trying to trespass, or steal.

Just remember, I do nothing else, I take no vacations, I pretty much never leave, and have no fixed schedule...all I do is stay ready, and keep grinding...

not entirely sure I understand the purpose of giving your customers and yourself more hoops to jump through when there's a literal storefront that you are actively using that provides the exact same benefits... but to each their own I suppose.

Saw your fb post and on here and although I can’t buy from you (location) I did have some thoughts, feel free to ignore them! If there is something I have misunderstood though then perhaps others are the same.

 I’m all for alternative currencies but the ones that stick around all do something different/solve a problem. I don’t get what problem this one solves.
You already have sales on your list (which is your word - a good thing). The stick system still relies on your word (again that’s a good thing) and also relies on the list when there’s a loss etc. I also imagine you would allow people to swap their purchase to someone else if they asked so that’s not a problem solved either.
The downside is extra mucking around and postage costs.

Other than fun it seems like only downsides,  but if it’s just for fun that might be fine!

the items i'm offering via jabo stix only, would have never been offered otherwise...

so there would have been no chance to get them any other way.

my website is operational, and ebay is up and running, those are my typical items for sale, always available.

and it's non-perishable?

what more could you ask for?  the purchase price is basically totally refunded in case i don't have what is promised....

i guess you'd rather just have the scions right away, but what if you want them now, and it's dead winter, and horrible time to graft....

you see, i get paid the big bux to think of ideas like this...

these stix i'm making are not really supposed to be widely distributed, or in high demand for everyday growers...these monetary units will be in high demand by a small group of growers, and collectors, who intend to propagate rare fruit trees (in my case plinia mainly), and resell them for $. A lot of us already know and trust each other, which makes the trust part a lot easier, it's not like we are strangers here....so the more people who trust my stix, and trust your stix...the better off we will all be. But i can assure you, my stix are worth what i promise for them, or your money back in full, every penny...i'm not trying to make a bunch of $$ off this, it's for fun...so i'm only making about 10-20 stix this year at most...it's not like i'm trying to collect a bunch of cash, because i'm hurting for $$, and trying to amass a bunch of debt, interest free, by issuing hundreds of these stix.....that would be the worst thing a stick issuer could do. My stix are based off of a great amount of wealth i've accumulated over the last decade or more, in the form of biodiversity.
