Looking for Loquat Scions of Vista White, Champagne, and Big Jim. It is my understanding that Champagne and Big Jim are self-fertile, but Vista White is not. Is that correct?
Thanks.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Updated list/information of Atemoya Varieties?
« on: November 09, 2023, 01:37:52 PM »
Is there anywhere to find a list of the best (although subjective) atemoyas in terms of taste, but also in terms of pollination successfulness (self-sufficient vs hand pollination necessary) and production? Plus, there are always new varieties emerging that would be great to learn about.

If no list maybe some experts in this area could chime in.
Appreciate it.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / White Sapote or June Plum?
« on: October 30, 2023, 12:44:39 PM »
Looking for info from those who are familiar with White Sapote. I bought this as a Redlands White Sapote, leaves and tree look correct to me, but based on the first harvest of fruit some people are telling me these are June Plums. I know the fruit are small, but is this because it is the first time it fruited, and they all fell off premature? I have included picks of tree, leaves, seeds, and fruit.
Thank you.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Cherimoya Pruning Help, tiny trunk
« on: February 23, 2023, 12:54:44 PM »
I would appreciate advice on how to prune this Cherimoya. Unlike all my other Cherimoyas which grew upright with a dedicated trunck and branches, the trunk on this one is only about 10" tall then it branched out. Is this ok or should I prune it in some way to make it grown up further before branching out? Thank you.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / To Tip/Scarify or Not.
« on: September 23, 2022, 09:22:06 PM »
I know some people use sandpaper, but I just take an exacto knife and remove a bit from the edges of the seeds. It is said that this can lessen the chances of the seeds sprouting, but I have not experienced much of that. They start so much faster. Here is a pic of 1 pot with scarified, 1 without, everything else being exactly the same.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / White Sapote Fruits Growing So Slow
« on: August 30, 2022, 08:58:04 PM »
This is my first year getting fruit on my grafted Redlands White Sapote. The tree is probably the fastest growing tree I have ever had, but the fruit is incredibly slow. Fruits are around 5 months old and barely bigger than a grape.  Wondering if others have same experience or maybe these ones the first year just aren't going to make it. I am located in central florida, 9B.

The variety I have is a little gritty and I hear Isan Indigo and or Na Dai are better, more chewy. Looking for a fruit or seeds so I can plant out my own to compare. Thanks.

I have a red, white, yellow, and Sabara Jabo tree and am located in central Florida. I am looking to put some in the ground but can't find any information on average size these varieties grow to except for Sabara which says 10-15 feet in California. If you know or have experience, I would love to know the difference in mature height of these varieties.
Much appreciated.

« on: April 11, 2021, 11:58:01 AM »

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Best Grafting Technique for Atemoya
« on: March 31, 2021, 09:42:30 AM »
I am new to grafting and have had about equal success with a couple different techniques so far. I would love to hear from members that have overall successful experience.
What is the best grafting technique, after grafting should it be placed in full sun or filtered sun? Also if this help with the answers, I am in central Florida, 9B.
Thank you.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Redlands White Sapote
« on: June 27, 2020, 05:53:15 PM »
I just bought a grafted Redland's tree 2 months ago and it is growing really fast here in Central Florida 9B.
I was wondering if this variety is self fertile, how the taste is compared to other varieties (especially ones that grow in Florida)?
Hoping to acquire some Younghan's Gold scions to hedge my bet on this one tree.

Thanks.

Shipping in the U.S. only. I have multiples, but seed quantities are grouped below for pricing and shipping.

BLACK SAPOTE AKA Chocolate Pudding Fruit.  Taken out of ripe fruit on 4-26-20.  Seeds are $1 each, plus 4.00 shipping, unfortunately due to the thickness of the seeds they force me to send these as a package and not a letter. Not happy about that.

Soursop Seeds (Annona muricata) AKA guanabana  or graviola.   5 seeds for $7, free shipping. Taken out of ripe fruit on 4-26-20

Please DM me directly for order.

Thanks.

Tropical Fruit Buy, Sell & Trade / S8 Sugar Dragon Cutting
« on: November 25, 2019, 04:09:10 PM »
Hello,
I am looking for 1 or 2 Sugar Dragon cuttings. I currently have 2  in potting mix that are not rooting, even though the same method worked for my yellow dragon fruit (both started in August).
Having a difficult time finding any available online and wanted to see if this forum could help.
Thank you.
