Have you tried both the last 2-3 years. Also how far are you from the coast? Coconut cream is not precoccious for me, no flowering for 4 yrs now. Plus tree is hard to keep erect. Fruit punch for me is a healthy upright grower, not vigorous growth but upright. Fruit punch looked and tasted different grown inland vs close to coast. They have different flavor profiles, but both are very good tasting. The ones i tasted last 3 years Coconut cream has consistently tasted good whereas Fruit punch has been off at times and very good at other times.

Let’s start over. What do you have planted now? Also what have you tasted and liked? How much space do you have? What are the priorities. Best fruit? Disease resistance? Prolific workhorse fruiting every year? If you are only planting one mango tree then you should go for one of the tried and true reliable producers. If you have a dozen already that changes things.

I think you're going to be quite happy with fruit punch. I liked it so much I bought a 15 gallon tree and plan on making juice and freezing it. The other tree that I have designated to make juice is Pickering hopefully it'll have some coconut flavor to it.

So you won't be planting any additional mango trees?  You only have room for two?  And you're not looking for any specific flavor, just something different than Alphonso?  There's none you've tasted before that have impressed you, or you've just had commercially-grown mangos?  (Lots of questions!  But we want to give you the best recommendations.)

I started a similar topic not too long ago.  Did you see this thread?  You might get some ideas.  The combinations are endless.  There are a lot of great mango varieties under the various flavor groups.

Is VP significantly better than its parent Haden?
Also what is it’s other parent ( a Philippine mango, from the crescent shape??)?

Both Valencia pride and Haden are on here.  :) You can find Valencia pride at most Home Depot in Florida

VP might be a healthier tree (?), but taste-wise I myself have yet to be wowed by a Valencia Pride mango. I love Hadens, though, and if I had to choose between the two, I'd go with the Haden.

I will definitely give Haden a try next mango season. I have been wanting to graft couple old school mango Edwards being one of them. Pretty much all the other category boxes have been checked. Not too worried about disease press here. Not much commercial even Citrus in our county anymore.  We don't have that special kind of humidity that South Florida has from being sandwiched between the Ocean the Everglades and Lake Okeechobee. Believe me I can feel the difference when I drive back to Osceola County

Special humidity?  Ever been to Gainesville in the summer (I lived there for 9 years)?  The climate is a bit different closer to the coast but my humidity in western Wellington is brutal, similar to that in Gainesville.  The severity of the effect has to due with good airflow vs stagnant air.

Certain diseases may not have spread throughout the State but if (and/or when?) its introduced it may thrive.  Totally different than California where many of the Florida diseases cannot live/survive.

One of the best classic flavored mangoes is Spirit of 76.

South Florida does receive a couple more feet of annual rainfall then my location and it is a lower elevation but you're probably right. All I know is when I get out of my truck in South Florida my first thought is ouch!!! :-X It's very stifling! My second thought is let's get this transaction done.I get my mangoes then click my heels together three times like Dorothy then I get out of there fast. As far as Gainesville my daughter says I'm not even allowed to stop for gas. I can roll my window down and spit or throw out any Trash I have :)
