Im located in Savannah GA.

Last time i posted on here my trees were suffering from shipping shock but since then they have been thriving well and growing like a weed! My oldest one looks like its trying to grow its top canopy, which is comical to me because its only 3 feet tall. The other is like 6 inches taller and is growing straight up! Heres a few pictures.

I plant to grow some for the challenge and to eat the scant pulp of the pods!  maybe I will try to do something with seeds...not sure.

Hello, Im looking for a dwarf betel nut palm tree. Does anyone know where I can get one? Or does anyone have one they are looking to sell? Thank you for your time!

Heres a picture of the new addition!!! My new TREE ( on the left ). Its taller than my first one. And a picture of the seeds in the containers. just waiting for them to sprout! The pods came from www.montosogardens.com very highly recommend. Great looking healthy pods. Great looking seeds. BTW the seeds I had there were two different strains. The BIG seeds are a red cacao tree strain. And the smaller seeds were from a Yellow Cacao tree strain. Ill keep you updated on the seedlings. BTW is anyone interested in the seedlings when they sprout and get big enough to ship?

I received my cacao pods today. I cut them open and de-shelled the seeds. I got them planted and watered right after. what do you think?

Distilled or spring water should be fine. If you have too much sp. moss the mix could get too acid very fast as sp. moss is very low pH, i think around 4, and cacao likes pH around 6.

it was like a half/half mix. I dont want to remove the tree seeming how I just planted it on friday im sure its already stressed enough. Is there a way that I can test the pH of my soil?

actually yes the first time i did use tap water. I didnt have time to let it set out. Its been 4 days since I watered it do you think i should water it?? I checked today's humidity. It didnt get lower than 80% humidity today. so should i let my water sit for a few days or use distilled water?

I have a quick question. My leaves at the tips are turning brown and these little things sticking off between the leaf and main trunk are turning yellow also. Does anyone have an idea as to why this is doing this??

Have you dealed with jim west before ,, as his seeds are very cheap and he is selling in 100 seeds packets ,, its like having a nursery ,, lool ,,

Cacaguy ,,, of course his seeds are growable ,, otherwise why would he sell them ,, lol ,, am kidding ,, his seeds are of very high quality having a germination rate of nearly 100% ,, and they usually come in a nice shape although it stays long time in transit between Hawaii and Egypt.

Taking in consideration that cacao seeds are hard to germinate and they never germinated with me as for the humidity required or else.

Completely agree to that, I love the pulp! Some of the other species should have more plup; Oscar I am not sure which species you have for sale, but otherwise I can recommend Jim West who has several rare species.

Who is Jim West? He sells cacao trees?

I have Red, Green and Yellow seedlings.  One of which fruited for the first time a couple of years ago (here in the sub-tropics) only to be frozen in our brutal winter that and the following year. The tree lost major limbs but has recovered but has not bloomed since.

Harry, do you have an idea where I can locate cacao pods that are fresh and unopened?? Ive been looking around for some time now and can not find any at all.
