There are a few really good articles out there touting jaboticaba as a true superfood. Here is one.

I found one of the articles cited in that paper hich claimed antioxidant activity. They used whole fruits which may have included seeds but likely included peel. The analysis showed lots of anti-oxidants. The 'swiss rat tail suspension test to assess antidepressant activity seems very curious, I wouldn't like it at all.

Probably did include the peel, I think that’s where most of the AI’s are

I read the reference to the rat tail suspension. Still not sure I follow it.

There are other articles, but I chose that one because it’s a very credible source

if your tree doesn't produce enough fruit, could be depressing

I have 4. 2 lose their leaves to a cold breeze but come back and grow well in warm season. The other two are in partial shade and almost seem dead. I thought they were supposed to be shade lovers?

Hoping to get some fruit this year off the two that grow, they are almost 6 years old, black variety. This is a nice side benefit to fruit I like but have only been able to eat over at Adam's. Grr

I'm growing a large unknown in-ground, maybe Sabara, with Grimal grafted on. Have medium Sabara and red hybrid in pots, and a small-medium vexator. The large and the red flower and fruit well. Looking forward to happy days!
