Looking for Abiu Z4 in Florida
« on: February 12, 2013, 09:54:22 AM »
I am looking for a grafted Abiu Z4 tree or for some Abiu Z4 budwood.  Please let me know if you know where I can get this one in Florida (or if you can ship it to me)  :)

Thank You,
Adiel

Don't think you are going to find it in Florida.   Might want to check with the boys from Down Under.

Yep, not going to find it in FL. That was my quest last year. I think Frankie's in Hawaii sells budwood from it. I bought budwood from montoso gardens but it may have been Z2. None of mine took. Frankie's did not have any grafted trees last year but maybe check with them now. Grafting them is supposed to be pretty tough. Especially if the scions are not super fresh. I gave up and bought a big seedling from benders grove that is flowering now.

Called Frankies, they have the Z2 grafted but only large trees +4feet for $50.  They said they currently did not have any grafted Z4's.  Something was not right about the Z4 they have since they mentioned it has "alot" of seeds but yet in a document from Australia it mentions that the Z4 only has one seed.

Wow, in that article they recommend 11-8-12 for mature trees and closer to an 8-3-9 (10-4-8) for growth stage?

Since it's been 4 years since the last post. Has it become available anywhere?
