citrus greening cure?

Good article in the Miami Herald about a possible cure being developed for citrus greening using spinach genes,interesting read on what is being done. will be tested soon in Okeechobee county,scientist has been working on it in Texas.

Dr. Robert Rouse of UF is giving a talk on July 11 at SFNS about citrus greening. I'll be there and let you know what he has to say. :)

Hope they find a cure.  The tree they found in California was in Hacienda Heights which is only a couple of miles away from me..

With regular applications of Turfpro and azomite, I hear greening is manageable somewhat like insulin dependent diabetics.   

Also hear there is a type of guava that repells greening if planted near citrus. I wouldn't be surprised if several other plants inhibit greening when interplanted with citrus.

Yes, guavas do repel the insect vector but it is not a 100% solution. I'm not sure if any guava would work or only specific varieties.
