I love mango but if I have to grow it, I will pick only my few favourite ones as follows:
1. Rhinomango => Many people love eating when unripe, but I do love eating it when it is going to ripe. It is sweet and sour at the same time. I planted a grafted one, got 3 fruits in the 2nd year.
2. Mamaungbao : It is local mango of southern part of Thailand which has same size as chicken egg. This raw mango has sour taste, crispy meat and natural smell so it is often mixed in many recipe; pounded mango as namprik or pickled mango. I planted one grafted tree and it produced tons of fruits in the 3rd year.
3. Barracuda mango (Nam Dok Mai): I love its sweet taste. They can be identified by the uniquely pale yellow skin and long slender candlelight shape. I love eating it when fully ripen and best consumed with sweentened sticky rice, thicken coconut milk and a sprinkle of sesame seeds. It is one of the most popular deserts in Thailand.
These only 3 varieties are enough for me, cannot find any more other varieties which I love so much so I want to grow them.
