Could be down to make the trip and bring whatever fruits I can round up depending on the date.
You offer free jade plant or Anything free on FB and there is a line around the corner. Free Avocado tasting it will look like Coachella is happening at your house and you’ll have to make the call on your own party, for the safety of your tree’s.

bringing fruit isnt a requirement, it would just help because I have plenty of hass fruits but not a ton of the other varieties.  my sir prize is pretty loaded up and I have a few jan boyce, sharwil, green gold, hellen, pinkertons, gwen, fuerte we can sample too.  if the group is smaller there should be more than enough.  Around 30 people or less would be good.

Im not doing the facebook thing, too many randoms.  i didnt think there would be that many interested.  wrong.

I'm on that FB group as well. If I didn't just start a new job I would be down for that but maybe next season when I will have some avocado's to contribute.

You should just charge $5-$10 a head for everything your putting together. A great deal. Can always not charge anyone you want to , maybe mostly everyone, but weed out some that come and just drain energy and overhelp themselves.

I'd love to participate, but won't be doing any group activities until I've had both of my shots.

Dang-it!

Im waiting for my covid shots.  Also I'll probably wait for another fruit season as I go to try your avocados last year from the fruit sale :)

Regarding the covid stuff, people can wear a mask and social distance or not I just don't care anymore and have no plan to take any shots.  I'm not going to ask anyone to do any of that this time.  Just use some basic common sense  and courtesy that you should regardless of covid is all I ask.  Thanks!

yes scion wood would be available.  I can ship it also very easy to torrance.  Its 2 hours or so to drive from Torrance.

Lets plan for April 10th Saturday 10AM

I may need to move that plus or minus a few weeks depending how the fruit is ripening.  Ill keep it updated.

I'm interested. My brother has mentioned your awesome home orchard to me so I would love to see it in person. My trees are still too young to contribute to the tasting.

Brad,
Thanks again for organizing.
I would be interested to attend. Nothing to contribute this time of the year. I can bring some pastry/cookies or anything else.
Cheers,
Val

I'm thinking about pushing this out until April 24th so the fruit can ripen a bit more.  Is that day ok?  People going to show up?

I need to pick fruits 3-4 weeks prior, let the ripen, record how long each variety takes to ripen.  Then count backward from tasting day and pick each variety at the correct date to make this happen.  Its going to take a bit of effort to pull it off so I just want to know if people can make it and theres enough interest and the date works?

I can push it till May also if there's people just waiting for their covid shots.  It sounds like most middle age and older people can get vaccinated soon.

Would love to drop by for the Avocado tasting.  24th of April works for me.  I am considering converting some of my Hass trees to different varieties this year, but tasting them beforehand would be ideal.  Thanks for offering to organize this event.
BTW, ag workers can get their vaccines now in CA so I will be fully microchipped by the event date  8)
