Cherimoya season is starting early. I've had 4 Pierce drop and have a few 2lb. Anyone in SoCal experiencing this?

Sounds right. Pierce is an early season one for me. Bad fruit set again at my mom's house this year. Many fruits are just starting to expand. I put in 5 seedlings at my house this year that will get more grafts next year.

How's Fino de Jete? Isn't that one supposed to be early season as well? It's always flowered well before everything else for me.

I have two drops so far from Booth on my multigraft tree. I didn’t thin properly and my fruit are tiny this year. I’ll take a pic when I get off work. I love how Cherimoya season starts as mango season winds down.

Dont know about where you are JF but it was 102F and 1% humidity here yesterday afternoon.  This weather is hard on fruit trees.  Nice photos by the way.

Here’s a shot of some fruit on my tree, I performed the first round of thinning but skipped the second round because I was too busy. I would much rather have fewer larger fruit than a bunch of smalls because the ratio of flesh to seeds/skin is higher in larger fruit.

I have no dropped fruit Frank, but as usual your trees seem to be ahead of me, I have not picked any moya yet this season...From the 5 moya trees that I have, I only got 2  fruits total last year (they are all young; in the ground for about 2-3 years).

Here's my fruiting moya trees:
African Pride atemoya:

Ausie atemoya:

Orton cherimoya:

Dr. White cherimoya (thanks for the scion, Simon!)

Wow, beautiful fruits! I've discovered that the hot and dry weather here in Bakersfield scorched the leaves of my cherimoyas, and generally negatively affect growth and production. Whenever the weather is cooler, there'd be new growth and even the existing leaves look healthier.  I'm planning on putting up some frames with shade cloth for next summer. My atemoya, OTOH, is impervious to hot weather, or cold. What a trooper!

I wish I did the second round of thinning because these fruit were all smaller than when I thin properly.

Simon, What's variety of your Cherimoya.  How can you make all your Cherimoya fruits shape so perfect?

Frank, the Annonas in your moms yard we’re huge and absolutely looked perfect.

I hand pollinate my flowers and removed all misshaped fruit in trees he first round of thinning. I was supposed to remove fruit that were too close to each other in the second and third round of thinning but as you can see in the pictures, I was too late. This is a multi graft tree with about 6 varieties on it.
