Looking for: lilikoi
« on: April 23, 2018, 02:49:15 AM »
Anyone have seeds or cutting's they are willing to sell? If not, I will buy some seeds off trade winds but I'd rather be sure I'm getting the right plant. Thanks.

Yes, thank you.
I made a post about this vendor the other day and this is probably where I will purchase but I was going to see if I could locate cuttings or something from a member first. I'm always worried an online vendor may not send the correct variety.

I will have some cuttings soon if you want to wait a month or so.  Just put one in the ground and it's starting to take off.  It came from a local member and is yellow PF correct type.  I'm also growing some large yellows from Costa Rica that another local member gave me seeds.  I have Frederick and red rover edulis also if you want those while the yellows are getting a little larger.

Yeah I can ship no problem.  It's going to be a month or so.  Plant is from a cutting a few months back and is now 3ft or so.  It was growing fast then I transplanted in ground a week ago and it should start growing hard soon.

Sounds good! Thanks!
How far apart do you space these? I plan on setting up another 16ft cattle panel a couple feet from my fence like I did for my cucumbers and cantaloupe. my passion fruit from Mimosa Anaheim was just labeled 'edulis passiflora' so I'm not sure the exact variety... They had fredericks but I can get that here up north.

I have them about 50ft spacing on 6ft tall horse panels with welded wire on them.  24ft each panel.  Each plant will cover 2 panels.  I put in a Frederick 6 months ago and it covered 50ft of fence already.  It may not be quite as vigorous up there in northern CA.

My Frederick is blooming now, looks like it will be super loaded soon.

Yikes! So big! I'd heard they get very large. Hopefully I won't be restricting mine too badly. Definitely sounds like I'll be good with just one additional plant!

Hey Brad, how's the lilikoi growing? I just got my other passion fruit in the ground and I think it's grown 8 inches in 3 days. Yikes!

Not doing much yet but it will.  It's getting g adjusted from being in a hothouse to being outside in partial shade and cool weather.  It will kick in gear soon once it heats up and it gains a little height into the full sun.  There's a big banana tree next to it that it needs to grow away from.
