Candy and other exotic treats
« on: July 06, 2014, 09:17:05 AM »
Has anyone tried any that are any good?
My friend just sent me some durian snacks and Lychee "pop rocks".  Neither had real fruit in them, but the durian had powdered durian flavor and it had the scent  of durian.  It also gave me the usual durian scented returns (burps) afterwards.
The Lycheee pop rocks were fun as expected, but i couldn't say they had any lychee flavor to them.

Any suggestions for what to do with the jackfruit flavoring?

I have tried the durian one (not the same brand shown in the picture, but a chinese one). A unpleasant experience, i won't do that again. And by the way, I do love durians.

I have never seen tropical fruitflavoured candy or snacks because in Thailand they sell the dried fruits which are good to eat (mostly).

There are specialized shops in candied fruit and they have almost any fruit for sale, candied or dried. I really like dried mango with powdered sugar on it.

Other very popular flavours for snacks are seaweed-flavour. Maybe that sounds weird to you in PR but i guess the seaweed trend came from Japan or Korea.
