Does Chilean Wine Palm Taste Like Coconut?

Supposedly it takes 20 years to fruit. But when it does, do those fruits actually taste like coconut?

I do believe there is a planting of Jubea down near mission bay, East mission bay drive near the Hilton. Might be worth checking out if you are curious.

I have tried the seeds several times and I like the flavor and think that it is very similar to coconut.  The one down side is that the seeds are quite small and it takes some effort to crack them open.  I have also grown some of these palms from seed.  The oldest one that is planted in the ground is about 10 years old.  They grow quite slowly when young but seem to pick up speed after the first several years when planted in the ground.
