Does Star Fruit always flower and fruit late summer to fall?
« on: October 26, 2019, 09:23:32 AM »
In the northern hemisphere?

I am growing one in a container that will need to come in the garage in November to stay there till April.

If they only flower/fruit in the fall and ripen over winter in the garage the fruit quality will not be good.

Thanks in advance.

Allot of starfruit set fruit twice a year in Florida. My tree is loaded with flowers now and will flower again in
the Spring. It seems like I get fruit mid Summer and late Winter here.

I'm in west central Alabama and my Starfruit has been blooming for a couple of months... but is now really starting to set fruit.
I am fortunate to have a greenhouse for it to over-winter in... I guess the added warmth and sunlight helps the fruit to develop better flavor.
Could be the variety of fruit too.

Mine started flowering again about a month ago after the summer crop finished up.
