What was the reason for grafting ghost pepper onto scotch bonnet? Wonder also why grow inside of a fridge? Is that to take advantage of insulation inside the fridge?

He grows them in the fridge to keep the roots cooler (this species grows at high elevations, with heat on leaves, but cool water from mountain stream...so he must keep roots cool to have healthy plants, and hopefully one day blooms!  At a much lower elevation, far away from home

As for the peppers...the point is to have one bush with both peppers on it.  The plants live for over 3 years for me, and produce year after year.  Ghost and scotch bonnet are my favorites...so why have to walk across the garden to pick from two separate plants?...why  not have them on the same bush?  I did it for fun to!  U never see grafted peppers, now u do.

Have you tried tasting the Ghost pepper or just purely an ornamental piece, Adam?  That's one mean looking pepper.  Is anyone growing the supreme king "Trinidad Scorpion"?

What was the reason for grafting ghost pepper onto scotch bonnet? Wonder also why grow inside of a fridge? Is that to take advantage of insulation inside the fridge?
Oscar
I second the two questions...

I grow the ghost pepper, but prefer to call them by original name: Bhut Jolokia. My standard joke is that this pepper "will kick your bhut!"  ;D

You said Ponkan is your favorite, not bhut jolokia.

Oscar's questions:
1.  what's the benefit or use of that old freezer?
2.  what actual benefit does grafting bhut jolokia onto scotch bonnet provide?

here's a quote from this thread that answers both questions.

I have bad memory yes...Oscar can attest to that.

But I did answer both questions and said Ghost is one of my favs! ;) ;D

woah....I retract my questions.  For some reason, I couldn't see your response to Oscar's questions even with my second post.  Strange but when I was posting, Oscar's was the last post I saw?    my bad...
