I have one that has been in-ground since early July (of this past year). It is also quite bushy and lush, but hasn't grown much taller...I planted a brogdon around the same time, and it didn't do much until this month...now it is flushing some new growth/side branches.
I haven't had it long, but if it stays short and bushy, that's ideal for me---less pruning required.
I'm sure Carlos and others have more experience and years in-ground.
