Lychee like jungle fruit id

Hi,
found this fruit in a remote Borneo jungle. Looks like a yellow lychee. Any ideas?

Yes, there are a few pics of this fruit online under the name of Nephelium melliferum. But N. m. should have hairy fruit appendiges.
The fruit and especially the yellow, fibrose aril also resemble Xerospermum.

Definitely sth like that, just the leaves look slightly wider. Its so annoying that many sites show it as korlan. That fooled me, too at first. I think now that they misidentified it since the flesh is nothing like in Nephelium.
