JUST IN Giant yellow Peruvian Dragon Fruit Seeds.
These seeds were removed from fruit just 48 hrs ago.
This is the rarest df seed available only from Peru.
Not to be confused with the tiny Colombiana.
This fruit is XL and round. Seeds are the largest df seeds you will ever see.
The fruit is as sweet as agave nectar and very appealing weighing in at 1lb or more. Pretty impressive for yellow df.
Get yours now as these always sell out when I get them.

Yes. The fruit are much larger and sweeter than any other yellow I have tasted.
-
What is the correct name for this yellow dragon fruit? I have seen both Selenicereus megalanthus and Hylocereus megalanthus for yellow dragon fruit.

I believe they changed it from S Megalanthus to H Megalanthus. Please correct me if I’m wrong.

Hi Carlos
Seeds arrived fine yesterday. Thank you. What is your recommendation for best results germinating the seeds? What kind of soil? How often watering?
Thanks

Not Carlos, but I collected some from one of the large fruits recently as well. I put mine in dilluted (20% or so) hydrogen peroxide to soak for a few hours, then put on the surface of saturated sphagnum moss, on a heating pad, in a humidity tray. The first sprouted in under 24 hours IIRC, and 7 days later I have tons up.

Mine arrived the other day. Soaked in warm water overnight, and most were sprouted already by morning. thank you Carlos

Last batch of fresh seeds going fast... won't be available till next year around this time. Get yours now.
-
This weeks orders shipped out. Few seeds left. Get yours now before they're all gone. Germinating fast no more after these are gone.
-
I literally just got a fresh batch of seeds available by pure luck. Will be processing them all week. It doesn't get fresher than this. I was down to less than 75 seeds and came 8nto some gorgeous fruit. They go very fast especially when they're this fresh.
-
Just a couple hundred seeds from this last batch left.
-
Orders shipped out. Few seeds left for the rest of the year.

Hi Carlos.
Can you please upload some photos of your plant with mature fruit on it? You mentioned to me in the past that you are also growing it (along with 30 other cultivars).
-
Hi Carlos
I've PM'd you again, waiting for a reply.
Need to know if seeds have been shipped :)
Thanks
-
Hi, Carlos.
I ordered from you last year and my seedlings are doing well. I noted that several posters have asked about pictures of both the fruit or in particular the grown plant. I too would love to see them. Also, do you intend to sell/trade cuttings any time soon?
Thanks,
Keith

Hi Carlos
I've PM you but haven't had a reply.
The extra seeds you sent didn't arrive. Can you confirm the address you've been trying to send them to? I've ordered seeds internationally many times now and never had issues receiving them, so this is a bit odd.
Thanks!

I know someone (on this forum) who got his first fruit from a plant originating from these seeds. He said it was no different in size from the standard megalanthus, but wanted to wait another season in the hope that the fruit might get better.
I am not optimistic.
Carlos also told me that the giant Peruvian was naturally thornless, however I think this is another lie. Basically, Carlos has just been selling seeds of fruit imported from Peru, which probably just had the thorns manually removed. Carlos said he is growing it himself, but never uploaded a single photo and won't sell a cutting even though that would maintain the true-to-typeness. Then there is the problem of hybridization, either from Peru or from Carlos (who told me he grows 30 cultivars). He doesn't respond to any of these issues raised ~ just keeps accepting orders and sending out seeds.
-
This has been my assumption for a while now. He has a facebook page if anyone has tried to contact him there. Or at least he had. If he doesn't respond soon, maybe I'll write him a letter.

Please post a photo of the vines. The reason I am asking for this is I have seedling plants of various store bought peru and ecudor large yellow fruit but havent fruited yet. But the vines do not look at all like the normal skinny wavy megalanthus vines that have been around forever. Would be interesting to see what your friends vines look like as the "standard" yellow vines have a very distinct look.
-
I’m probably who he’s talking about. I’ve given away quite a few of these cuttings with the warning that I haven’t gotten a giant fruit yet. The vines are still young so I’d give them 2 more years so before making the call. So far the growth is different from the regular mega (less scalloped) but the fruit have retained the dimpled look and do have spines. Fruit have only been golf ball sized from 2 seedlings. The third I kept has yet to fruit.
Post image is not working right now but I just went out and took some pics, will post when the site works again.

Thanks, those are nice pics and yes vines look much different.
Just out of curiosity what latitude are you at? You live in Australia? You are in a more tropical area or subtropical? Just wondering if these giant yellow plants really need a longer hot season to fully size up or its purely genetic.
-
I’m at 28.26S, about 3km from the ocean. Pretty much coastal subtropical. No frost, 70 inches of rainfall, my home weather station has stayed between 90 and 40 for the last 5 years.
