Mike, you frequently mention about the locules for sex determination.  I just have a small doubt.  Supposing a fruit has 3 locule, but only 2 have seeds and the third is an immature one.  Would the remaining 2 seeds be females?

Sucker division is usual for all wallichiana and zalaccas. They are cut through and left in place and removed later.Dont plant Thai sala seeds from fruit that are one or two loculed as they nearly always turn out male.

Just received some seeds supposedly of marula.  From what I have seen online, I thought the seeds would be much bigger than what I have just received.  So, I just want to confirm these are actually marula seeds. 



The seeds are also not similar with some being almost half of the others.  The measurement in the scale is in centimeters. 

No.  It's seasonal.  From mid-October to mid-December.  Occasional and infrequent rain in August and September.

what I am saying that Chennai may not have the climate to support Sour Sop fruit. Its very difficult to grow in California and we grow Cherimoya just fine, Florida cant grow cherimoya but grow soursop and atemoya just fine. Do you get rain showers throughout the year like tropical areas?

Those may be two fruit sets to the left of the flower--- it is too soon to tell.

Even after proper pollination, the tree must steadily have enough water and it must be well mineralized: if it is slightly deficient in Boron and Zinc, most or all young fruit sets will abort, even while the leaves have enough to look perfectly healthy.

Could you please give some natural sources of these two - boron and zinc?

My soursop tree has only fruited once before.  And the fruit was very small and fell off even before ripening.  At any given time, this tree has at least 5-6 flowers.  Right now, there are more than 10 flowers.  I even tried to hand pollinate once, but it was a failure.  None of them form fruits. 

As it had already set fruit once, could I safely assume that there is no issue with pollination?  Please help.

Syzygium specie.  Water apple.  Should I prune this plant or allow it to keep growing?

Jen, water the soil or seedlings with soda?  Did you try it?  How old are your seedlings now?

I bought some seeds from Dragonfruit101 on this forum a couple of months ago.  He suggested I water them (once sprouted) with club soda, as it helps to aerate the soil and provide the seedlings with minerals.  I can't really tell one way or another, but I thought I'd mention it to you all.  - Jen

I may be wrong, but they don't look like millipede to me.  Look like larvae of some bug.

Update

The seeds are smaller than that of the Saba senegalensis which I got last month.  In comparison, these are about half to three quarter of the size of s. senegalensis.

Probably African Ebony, a Diospyros variety?

You mean to say this is not Saba comorensis ?

Tastes like a mixture of banana, grapes and lots of tamarind.
