Hi,
Wanted to show you the earliest fruit in Germany this year.

Clip is from Apr but first fruit must have been ripe in Feb becouse under some shrubs you could find only fresh pips by mid March.

Thanks for sharing! I thought that honeyberries are the first ripe fruit in Germany.

Eleagnus angustiflora also has fruits this time of the year.I foraged a few from a park a month ago.

Did not find any honeyberries, yet but lots of fruit species from last year survived the mild winter, including the very similar looking Berberis julianae

The Eleagnus angustifolia trees i checked had no fruit now but i suppose that some individuals kept fruit from last year.
The crazy thing about the silverberry is that it flowered in late autumn and ripened during winter and spring.
