Just another victim of hurricane Maria. Ian's farm was nearly wiped out from the storm. He lost an incredible amount of rare specimens and most of the trees that produced for local markets and abroad.
Few people like asking for money and they fight it as long as they can. Government agencies and red tape are seldom a match for any of us and Ian is losing battle after battle. It's frustrating and wrong, but a reality.
The farm has been great for the agriculture and economy of Puerto Rico and have supplied many people with fruit they never dreamed existed. Ian and his farm became a huge part of my life. I've spent the last nine summers there meeting lots of wonderful people. It is an incredible place worthy of being restored. There are also workers on the farm with families that Ian is struggling to keep.
So at least check out the site below. Please help out if you can. Thanks.
