Grafting cutie oranges
« on: September 11, 2014, 10:23:01 AM »
I ended up with some viable seeds from an oddball cutie orange(not sure the common name) and have a few sprouts popping up in a pot I planted them in. I have never grafted anything before and if I remember right(I have kinda gotten away from citrus), the base tree isn't good on its own and needs to be grafted to a hardier rootstock. Whats a good rootstock for me to graft to when they get a little bigger that is good for central florida? Preferebly something disease resistant. Where does one get grafting rootstock from?

Oh really, I wasn't aware of this. Nevermind, I am not in Florida, nothing to see here.

Mandarins can actually be a good rootstock. Google cleopatra mandarin.
