Puerto Rico - Travel ideas
« on: March 05, 2024, 10:06:19 AM »
Hi - I will Puerto Rico for a few days next week.

Are there any interesting garden/fruit orchards/stores to checkout?  Any ideas or local resources greatly appreciated.

I am not sure how the area fared during the hurrricane but I visited a coffee farm in the Lares area that was kinda cool. It was the best (and only) good cappuccino I had while I was there over many years. It would be awesome to connect with more of the PR growers, I am very fond of the island and have been there many times. I wasn't into fruit growing when I was there.

there are some good ones and they have been covered extensively on the forum.
a forum search on "Puerto Rico" should serve you well.
research station in mayaguez, botanical garden in san juan etc.... on and on

Puerto Rico sounds like a fantastic destination. Although I don't have personal experience with garden tours, I've heard great things about Los Altos Beach Resort & Spa. They offer luxury accommodations and might be a great base for exploring the area.
For garden and fruit orchards, you might want to check local resources or ask around for recommendations once you're there. Puerto Rico is known for its beautiful landscapes and tropical fruits, so I'm sure you'll find some amazing spots to visit.
Enjoy your time in Puerto Rico!
