Post by: joeb on May 10, 2014, 05:31:39 AM
I have read a lot of good things about the Nadorcott, folks seem to love them. Seems they are widely grown in South America and South Africa, can anyone give their opinion on them also are the trees available in the U.S.A.

Nadorcott is an excellent mandarin, very juicy, sweet and tasty, easy to peel.
It is a patented variety, in Spain there is not plants available for amateurs. It is very protected here.

Other synonyms for Nadorcott variety are W Murcott, W Murcott Afourer. It is not classified as a Clementine, though I have seen it sold as such.
Plenty of info if you search these names. Excellent variety.
Tango is a seedless mutation from irradiated budwood.

Thanks for the replies, very interesting and informative. I going to get a Tango to put in the hoop house, should be the American version of the Nadorcott.
