What are the last three on the hybrid list. I have never heard of those, do you know someone who has them?

These were hybrids used by Har in his breeding program...I'm sure they are still around somewhere..I'm hoping these lists will help us locate some of these more harder to find cultivars...here is references to these plants:

Cool! I don't know how to edit, but the Hilary pinks mammoth should just be Hilary White, with bud sport of Pinks Mammoth in parentage. Paxton's Prolific is AKA KJ Pinks and is a bud sport of Hilary White. Could you also enter a column for Late Gold, which is another I am growing now?

I might mess it up if I edit.
There is a lot to say. For atemoyas keller should be kaller=African pride. Rosendo Perez is an ilama not atemoya. There are a lot of unnamed sugar apples and atemoyas that don't make the list.
I wonder for completeness if Annona muricata deserves a spot on the team.

Can you explain the bud sport? These are mutations? How should the parentage be listed? Late Gold is added...

A bud sport is a spontaneous mutation of the plant where different tissue occurs at the point where the bud occurred.  You may also come across the term "chimera".  That would be the term to explain the plant that would now have two different types of tissue on the same plant.  In horticulture, a fair number of clones have arisen from bud sports.

oh ya...another great squamosa, vietnamese chewy ( I think this is the common name?)

I have yet to taste the Yucatan sugar apple, but it looks very interesting, judging by the foliage and flowers.

Rosendo Perez is an ilama not atemoya.

Rosendo Perez is an atemoya as far as I know.  I have the tree, but it has never fruited.  What I have growing, which I bought as Rosendo Perez from Hopkin's Nursery, is clearly not an ilama based on the leaf structure.

Rosendo Perez is also an ilama so she must be both.

I found the name under both so I listed both and figured someone might say something...maybe some pics of the diversifolia and atemoya to compare are in order...

Neglected Crops:1492 from a different perspective..lists Rosendo Perez under diversifolia....and so does Julia Morton but I also found that a 'Rosendo Perez' Atemoya was one of the first cultivars bred for Florida..

Saramoyo are in season in the Yucatan right now. I had a couple of good ones around Chetumal but most of them were nothing to write home about.

Funchal, Perry vidal, Madeira and Mateus 1, are named cultivars from here.

JF,

thanks for the info...too bad there werent some nice selections to bring back.

Maybe the yucatan variety I have will be special.

the foliage is quite elongated, as are the flowers.  Also the foliage is somewhat tomentose, which is unusual.

so far, it doesn't look like any ordinary sugar apple I've seen...if I can get some fruits to set, I'll definitely share pictures.

I believe Mr. Rosendo Perez has at least two different fruits named after him.

believe me I was tried....against my wife's will :D.... I stop in many fruit stands, not Plazas (central markets) up and down the yucatan peninsula trying to find the perfect annona. I found the saramoyo quite seedy and the custard apples a bit pass their peak. Here is a pic of a tree I had to climb to try the fruit.

I like your idea of an ultimate annona list. Might be helpful to break up the list by species. As it stands it's not possible to tell what type of species each cultivar on the list refers to. So you could have a section for atemoya, one for cherimoya, one for sugar apple, one for soursop, one for custard apple, one for rollinias, and one for rarer species.

Oscar, if you look at the bottom of the  screen (going horizontally), you will see tabs (each with a different species name)..the opening screen is A. cherimola...if you click on a different species name it will open the species page....
