USDA Allowing Chinese Citrus Into Thle USA
« on: April 23, 2020, 03:05:03 PM »
With all the problems that the USA and the Citrus industry is having, why on earth would the USDA allow China to begain selling their citrus in the USA.

I was so dumfounded by this decision  that I wrote my Senator (the 1st time ever) and asked him how the USDA could possibly be so dumb,  If I ever get a reply I will post it.

I wonder the same on why supermarkets here in biggest world producer of plums ( Romania) sell plums from USA at 20 times the price of romanian plums wich taste verry superior compared to the supermarket plums.
Its like trying to teach your father how to make kids.

On the otther hand,China buys all the pecans from USA and all the pecan orchards in Georgia are planted on that promise.
You wouldnt have pecan orchards in USA without China.

Lmao! Where do you get your information, CNN?
Not from CNN but from the lady that makes the series ,,How does it grows: Pecan,, .
There she got her informations from probably the american owner of the biggest pecan orchard in USA,the guy that light a pecan nut to show how the oils keep it lighted and then says that energy you get it if you eat it.
I cant think of any bigger pecan expert in the world and he says if it wasnt China to buy to nuts you wouldnt have pecan orchards in USA because you only eat pecan pie once a year.
Here its the video about pecans https://youtu.be/k61hXCNyq-E

You ban citrus from China then the chinese can ban pecans from USA and you end up nowhere just creating instability for the mafia to take advantage.

Sea Walnut, I hope China chokes on the pecans.  Laaz, you are my anti Wall-Mart brother.  I, NEVER EVER EVER shop in Wal-Mart.  I buy NOTHING from Wall-Mart, its un-American to shop at Wall-Mart.

I'm also shocked to hear this and I searched USDA APHIS and found this...

Here's a sample of the text of from the USDA announcement:

"The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) is authorizing the importation of five types of commercially produced fresh citrus fruit from China into the continental United States. After thorough analysis, APHIS scientists determined that pummelo, Nanfeng honey mandarin, ponkan, sweet orange, and Satsuma mandarin fruit from China can be safely imported into the United States under a systems approach to protect against the introduction of plant pests."

You just have no clue do you? Here in the US, we have way more wild pecans than we could ever need.

Your a specialist in pecans now and contradict that dr in the video wich has that giant orchard and says China resurected the american pecan industry.
Not going to argue more on this as im not american and not chinese and i couldnt care less about the regulations in your country.
Do you have pecan trees on your land or have you planted and germinated seeds of pecan?
I did that and ive learned a few things about pecans and if you contradict that man in the video about pecans then you are clueless.

As for the fake colored oranges from China selling sites like Aliexpress,i agree, dont buy from them any seeds but thats not relevant to the discussion here.

I shop at supermarkets here and i inform you that you have low reasons to worry because all the oranges and citrus except pomello ,are grown in Europe or in Turkey,Israel.

Wow. USDA sucks more than I thought. The timing seems too perfect... it looks like this came from a purely political motive. And after china is selling us counterfeit equipment and the equipment we gave (for free) to them. America should stop buying anything from china after what they did and constantly do, yet USDA is now allowing chinese citrus in. Cannot believe this.
