"For instance a honey bee lifespan is @50-80 days normally ,on a normal diet of honey from nectar.
On a diet from sugars from fruits ,bees lifespan shortens to just 12 days."

@SeaWalnut: Does this mean when a bee kepper Feeds his bees in winter with sugar water which is normally be done - the life time of those bees in winter is shortened so extreme?
Sugar is a lot better for bees than fruit fructose.
Sugar, sucrose, the bees turn it into glucose and fructose.
Only fructose is verry bad for them and even for humans ,if the diet has only fructose ,we wouldnt live too long because we need glucose and also the fructose its metabolised by the liver.
Fructose in normal ammounts like from consuming fruits its healthy for us just a diet based on only fructose and no otther carbohydrates its bad.

Fructose is as bad for our liver exactly like alcohool is .
We can eat 50 grains fructose daily or 40 grains alcohool daily ,but in excess it will cause cirrhosis.

I have not seen a honey bee in my area for a few years. I do have mason bees, carpenter bees, wasp and hornets. I will be putting out mason bee houses this spring.
My name is Cindy

Most likely not because the fruitarians do not eat only sweet or the sweetest fruits.
Those are people that are trying to follow a healthy life and they do not eat calories in exageration.
The problem with fructose appear when you eat too manny sweets ,too offten, that are sweetened with fructose like from corn syrup instead of sugar.
Fruits are healthy and fruits are not only fructose or a carbohidrate source.

They eat only durian, chempedak, banana, jackfruit, mango, coconut....nothing else. Is that fructose?
