Bug ID help
« on: April 15, 2019, 05:34:58 PM »
I am having a hard time identifying this bug. They are doing quite a number on the leaves of the acerola and peanut butter and a few on the mulberry.

I am going to hit them with one peppermint oil and a few other essential oils tonight. Unless there is something that might be more effective.

Curious what they are, never seen them before.

Looks like shiny flea beetle. I have used spinosad with great success on them.

I think they are part of the jewel beetle family. I've seen em in my neck of the woods eating mango and grumichima leaves. Damage is no way near that of the Shrilankan weevil (not seen in my neck of the woods).
