They are everywhere in Bali, Indonesia. Perhaps one of our Indo sellers might be able to help.
I was over there a month too early for the season. There should be tons of them in the markets right now.

I would questin if what is in the markets are true Wani or fruit from Wani seedlings.  Seeds from a Wani do not give you a true Wani.  From what I know, it is difficult to graft on anything but itself.

I can not confirm the truth of graft that are sold in the market. I think Wanyi relatively rare fruit. very hard to come by. if lucky, local traders still sell them on the street. but not sold in the modern market.

Pretty common in Bali. Never tasted one before. What the locals told me is  they are a total pain to graft. Not impossible, but darn low success rate.

Exactly, as they are known to be finicky to graft at best, I would venture to guess much of what is in the "market " are seeding fruit.  Since Wani is mono, the fruit would be seedlings of and growing a seed would be seedling of a seedling of....possibly a good source for rootstock if one were able to get budwood from a true Wani.
