Dear friends, I had the opportunity to taste a jaboticaba fruit on Saturday due to the graciousness of 'mangobaby'. When I posted on the Buy,sell section for jaboticaba fruits, 'mangobaby' invited me to his house to taste the 'Hybrid Red jaboticaba fruits on his tree. It is one of the best fruits I have eaten!!! I cannot wait for my 18 month old plants to fruit.

I found a white sapote tree in my friend's farm. I suppose it is Casimiroa edulis. Is it possible to identify the var? The fruit is over 2 inches in size. Can the unripe fruit be eaten?

This sapotaecea is better than Mimusops elangi. The fruits are sweet and of a good flavour. The flowers, when they open are full of nectar and very sweet.

I managed to sprout three pawpaw seedlings, but after putting out a few leaves, the terminal bud stops growing,dies and then the leaves start to whither one after the other. Can any one tell me what could be the reason? Is it possible to save the seedlings? Thanks.
