Citrus General Discussion / Citrus greening and oak leaves.
« on: February 13, 2020, 09:48:38 AM »
I read online that there is building evidence that somehow live oak leaves can slow or prevent citrus greening. They haven't isolated exactly what it is in the leaf that causes this. Supposedly farmers have known for some years about trees thriving under live oak canopies. Has anyone here experienced this? My other question is, do I have a live oak here and should I make tea out of its leaves and apply to my Satsumas?

Tropical Fruit Discussion / "Younghan's" white sapote
« on: February 12, 2020, 07:24:16 AM »
I bought a grafted white sapote tree labeled Young Hands.  I've read that Young Hands is also called Younghans. Has anyone here grown and fruited this variety? If so, what is your opinion? How does it compare to Suebell or other sweet varieties.

Mod edit: Corrected the variety name. Young Hands is the incorrect spelling.

Help! The new growth on my grumichama looks terrible. Is this just cold damage or should I be hitting it with something before all the buds open up.
Thanks,
Chris

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Jabuticaba

I bought this from the Mai Vang bonsai guy in Sarasota, FL a couple months back for $35. Has a 1 inch trunk. Is there any way of guestimating it's approximate age.   8)

Thanks in advance,
Chris
