Tropical Fruit Discussion / lisa or gefner atemoya ?
« on: October 21, 2017, 05:51:13 PM »
Hi everyone I was curious if anyone could tell if this is a gefner or lisa atemoya by the picture. I bought the tree label as a 15 gallon lisa. First fruit to harvest the first year. I'm aware if it is a lisa it's suppose to change to a pinkish grey when maturing. If not and it was sold to me wrong is it ready? Or do I have to wait till the bumps separate like a sugar apple?

When is it the best time to prune your soursop, sugar apple, and atemoya trees in South Florida. I'm pretty new to this so I would like to do it at the right time. Thanks

Tropical Fruit Discussion / advice on tip pruning young mango tree
« on: August 07, 2016, 01:52:43 PM »
Hey can anyone give me advice on pruning my tree. It's about 5 1/2 feet tall fruit punch mango. I was wondering if I should start tip pruning the tree or just let it grow on its own. It's only been planted for about 2 months in the ground and it pushed it's first flush about a month ago.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / 3 gallon cogshall mango questions
« on: January 03, 2016, 07:27:17 PM »
I was at lowes and seen these new 3 gallon cogshall mango trees for sale and some of them had flowers so I bought one and I was wondering if it's normal for a 3 gallon mango to flower so young, also when I planted it the tree wasn't even close to be root bound so I know it hasn't been in there long . There is even a few fruits forming.

Tropical Fruit Discussion / 7 gallon kari carambola
« on: June 28, 2015, 07:59:36 PM »
I recently purchased a 7 gallon kari carambola and it's been in ground for maybe a month. Within two weeks it started flowering like crazy now I counted over 80 little fruits setting. I have never grew carambola before. Could anyone tell me if it will hold all the fruit?  Because by the size of the tree about 5 ft I don't know how it could support that many fruit. Or Will it drop some before they mature? Any help thanks

Tropical Fruit Discussion / Skinny Sapodilla
« on: June 09, 2015, 07:55:40 PM »
I purchased a 15 gallon sapodilla that already had 8 fruits on it but the tree seems to be skinny and rubbery. I was wondering if it will ever thicken up or could it have been in a pot too long. It's about 7ft tall?
