I have a Nam Doc Mai tree that I intend to prune and topwork a couple of other varieties on to. The tree is holding about 15 mangoes now. Will pruning cause the mangoes to drop?

Also, can i graft more vigorous varieties on the tree? I know the vigorous varieties may take over, but I don't quite mind that. Will the vigor of such varieties be affected by the  fact that it is grafted on to a slow grower?

Wrong forum.

If you dont care and want to top work it, pull the fruit and go forward with hard pruning.  I say this xause vegetative growth can tend to have negative effects on developing fruit's quality,  plus if you want it to focus on preparing to topwork,  you might as well stop the tree from putting energy to developing the fruit.
