med fruit fly and guava doubt
« on: March 18, 2016, 11:46:15 PM »
Hi, I have a guava fruit that I think it has fruit fly worms inside, or eggs maybe, not yet worms... it fell unripe and I would like it to ripe more... but if it has worms, it will rot...

there is no solution for this? I have some crazy ideas:

what about if I freeze the unripe fruit to kill the eggs (would they die?) and then let it ripe? would it ripe if frozen before?

what about if I put it into the microwave and burn the eggs/worms (and the fruit... but not so much to "kill" the posibility that it will ripe), would it ripe then?

It's worth a try , but I doubt you'll get the desired results.
Here in Aust, you need to bag the fruit.
Neem will do nothing, either before or after being stung.
