Lavender Mulberry

hybrid mulberry i found at my uncle and aunts place on the river bank today.

Thought it may be of interest to some of you, never seen nothing like it before. Uncle has a white at his house and the wild black ones grow feral everywhere down the river. Tasted awesome.

For sure fulla! Gonna get some branches and do some cuttings. tasted sweet like the white but the faintest amount of acidity like the black. cant say i am a mulberry fan as white is overly sweet for my liking and black just a bit tart but this was pretty nice balance.

Those are pretty awesome! If seeds make it to the states, I'd love to get my hands on some!

Nice find, there is a Sweet Lavender mulberry in the US was found my a CRFGer that his first name escapes me but last name is Bayer!
Burnt Ridge Nursery in Wa. sells it ! 8) But the color is washed out more on this variety, your find has a much deeper lavender color great find. 8)

If my mulberries are an indication, finished fruiting, should be a good time for getting cuttings, hope you get a fair few.

Yeah true Adam. I take it it is a hybrid but could be chance mutation but I dont love mulberries enough to plant out a heap of seeds to find out if they come true. Hehe.cutting would be best I suppose.
