I know this gets beat to death but it still seems relevant to talk about with so many new varieties.

There are some I have not had the opportunity to try yet but I did get to try a bunch of new and new to me Mangos in 2018 and it definitely rearranged my TOP Ten.

Based on Flavor

#1 for me is still Coconut cream
2 E4 ( first year to try it.)
  3 Sweet tart
  4 Carrie
  5 CAC
6 Pina Collada  ( first year to try it)
  7 Beverly
8 Lemon zest/lemon merengue ( pretty much tasted the same for me this year)
  9 Southern blush
10 DOT

Just as a point of reference, I ate a lot of mangos this year.

             Honorable mention

Gary, venus, fruit cocktail, "young", haden (still classy), Edward, Gary, Julie,

No longer in Favor (could have been off year for them ? Also, JMHO.)

Val Carrie, Graham ( jelly sead), julliet, Pickering, Maha, Valencia pride, cogshall (jelly sead), NDM, florogon, Rosigold

New to me this year but not impressed with

creambrulee, fruit punch, harvest moon, Choc anon, Cushman, Duncan, Kathy, O-15, Pineapple pleasure, J-12 dwarf Hawaiian, Rapoza

                            *Still waiting to try*

Orange sherbet, M-4, Guava, butter cream, Peach cobbler, Honey kiss, spirit of 76, ugly betty, phoenix, cotton candy,
orange essence, Juicy peach, Edgar, Angie

I just went to Zills Friday and picked up 20 Mangos of varieties we already have.  3 Guava, 3 Orange Sherbert, 3 Butter Cream, 3 Triple Sec; 3 Peach Cobbler, 3 Fruit Punch, 2 Sweet Tart.  From my observations while at Zills, they do not have very many Sweet Tart left.  The Sweet Tart do show fungal damage on the leaf. We now have 164 mango trees and are trying to get to 300 by the end of this summer.

We love Zills everything.  We are organic. Our farm is only a few miles from the most biodiverse marine estuary in North America, Mantees, Dolphins, Seat turtles it’s beautiful.  All copper fungicides are toxic to all aquatic life including OMRI listed copper fungicides..  We do not use OMRI copper fungicides.  OMRI fungicides should only be used as last resort, then only with restrictions.  Fungicides and trees that do not cycle their own nutrients is a problem with industrially grown Mangos from Lake Worth, Fl. for us in our system.  A large percentage of trees will not survive in our system if planted directly after being purchased.

For us to get a good Zill Mango tree survival rate.  Before planting into our organic system, we Spray/drench 2x each input with, em1, dust with small quantities of donkey/mule manure, Spray/drench with a Biodynamic Compost tea, dust with Biodynamic Compost, dust with dirt taken from under large oak tree.  Repeat everything, then plant.  This has been successful for us if we follow with, small increments applied periodically of raw manure, carbon, biochar, Biodynamic Compost and various biodynamic sprays. Zills Mangos thrive in Florida for us while being grown organically. We love ZHPP.

Nothing wrong with winter mango musings. In baseball this is/was called the "hot stove league"   All you need is a few budding mango panicles to set off excitement for the upcoming mango season. It has been very dry/ no rain here in SE Florida so my 2019 hopes are up and up/

We are waiting on our USDA organic certification and in March we apply for Demeter USA certification.  We would like to wait until we have both certificates before selling anything.  Possibly in 2020 we will start having enough fruit to sell.  Plenty for personal use until then.  We might start offering fresh grown produce this summer but probably not many Mangos.  We’ve currently got tomatoes, fennel, yellow nut onions, Cilantro, Yacon, Jalapeños, kale, purple tree collards, cabbage, lettuce, greens and millions of red and purple Japanese sweet potatoes. Yikes it doesn’t stop!

The Zill Mango, planted 12/18
