Wait and see
I have heard of them growing back and I have heard of trees that were 32F
that didn't. I guess it depends on factors like the amount of time they were
cold and how much dew and wind there was. I have a yellow and red type and we were
30F one night 2 years ago and I got away with leaf burn only. On that night
the ice did not freeze in my tortoise's water bowl. This year a couple weeks
ago we were 29F at my house with the wind which blew hard all night. My two trees
still have fruit and flowers now. Also my tortoise water bowl froze that night.
The wind saved my trees and even my tomatoes were untouched.
One thing that could help is to water your trees heavy the night before.
Our water comes out of the ground at 72F and if you drench the roots
it helps unless you have prolonged cold and then Probably nothing would
help. I always keep a pile of mulch around in case we have a 20 degree night
to pile around the trunks above graft lines. Hope it works out!
