If you want a tree that produces fruit, you may want to cut it down and go with another type of fruit.  Either way, as you are near the hotbed of Erinose infestation, I would consult with the Florida Dept of Ag. on best course of action.

I just set up an appointment with the Dept. of Agriculture. They are going to come out and inspect them and let me know what needs to be done. My biggest worry was that it could spread to my other fruit trees. The woman that I spoke to said that mite only attacks Lychee trees. I hate to lose them, they have been good producers the last few years. But if it’s going to be an ongoing battle. I will probably replace them with something else.

 I am not a gambling man, but I would bet money on it that the state's plans and procedures to "attempt" to rid the past will be nothing but searruction if trees and loss of lychee crops for at least a year or two for many growers.

Stripping all the leaves and removing them from site worked for me. Haven’t seen reappearance for over a year. Tree came back fine

They were able to eradicate the mite twice before in previous decades. I was impressed when the inspector pulled out his cell phone and brought up a GPS map of individual trees across the state. The local inspector has good knowledge of the area.
Here on Pine Island where it has been present for a few years and some trees are heavily infested they got a crop last year was very good, this year OK, maybe a little less.
