Shaneatwell finger lime was grown in San Diego. Notice the light red coloration of the fruit. The red pigmentation in Finger Limes is caused by a chemical called Anthocyanin. Anthocyanin's color is a cold sensitive chemical . The more cold the redder the fruit. A Moro Blood orange which also contains Anthocyanin can be grown as a blond orange (no red pigmentation) simply by growing the fruit in a constant warm environment.
