Indeed they are something special and can be very ornamental which is why I have collected
more than 100 different species / varieties so far and I haven't even scratched the surface

even after being chopped off from the parent tree

Nurseries in Australia prefer to sell the sour variety but make no mention of this on
the tag although we are trying to get the sweet and giant sweet versions out there

Does anyone know if it has reached India yet? I am out fruit hunting summer next year, besides mangoes and superior variety Jamun, i will be looking for lychee varieties there.

I have plenty of contacts in India who will want this when they find out I have it and when their postal service is up and running again

They get pretty big

I need to get some of these.
Does it require a lot of cold stimulus to fruit?
SE florida didn't get much cold these days so hopefully it a more "tropical" friendly one

They need some cold stimulation but hopefully will still bear in the tropics

Just wondering how pricy his fancy lychee are.

This lychee commands a premium price usually about $15 per kg or $7 per lb

« on: August 23, 2020, 08:35:45 AM »
You could leave them in pots until they are a bit bigger or you could plant them in the ground but  you'll need to baby them through the
wet season for the first year .I have 150   3 year old seedlings in pots that are between 20 and 50 cm tall and their growth is relative to
the care they've received .You can come and check them out some time if you like
