I recently came across these at work and started grabbing some tops to plant.. (they’re super delicious for yellow variety of pineapple) but I’m wondering if anyone else here has already been growing these?

I'm not an expert on pineapples but from the material provided by del monte it doesn't say they are a different variety. I think they might just be the elite gold variety that they grow left to ripen a bit more on the plant. I'd be excited to hear about a new variety, but I think it's unlikely.

I wonder if it’s just MD2 with a shiny new marketing name?

The description says it’s new with a minimum Brix of 12%. It could be a new variety. I wonder what the average Brix is?

I have MD2/Gold & those have serrated leaves & aren’t as sweet. These Honeyglows don’t & also have a slight mango flavor too 🤤

Very interesting. Where did you find them? I would love to plant a few tops too. Last year I bought some Honey pineapples at Bravo market. Can't say if they would be the same. They tasted very good.

I actually came across them at the restaurant I work at. I’ve always seen the others but never the Honeyglows.. so I made sure to grab what I could 😁

Hi if you had real MD2 pineapples they are sweet and very good and MD2 plants are smooth leaves no serrated leaves at all
