Got a lot of fresh Terminalia kaernbachii seeds or Okari that can be bartered for other seeds or plants.
Before I post images I want to see if the germination rate is higher when seed contets are extracted from the endocarp and/or not seed coat as germination rate have been poor previous years with no intervention whatsoever or slightly cracking the endocarp. It will be clear very soon and I will update with results.
Some results:
For seeds with outer seed shell removed: seams like they really need warm temperature as the one I put in a glass of water in the sun shows the most germination activity. The seed starts to turn yellow/green and the seed starts to flake open. Not all seeds respond in this way so not conclusive. Still better germination then if left in the outer seed shell.
You can pm if your interested and have offer of seeds that you can swap for our Okari seeds.
In the profile slogan there's a link to a list of desireable seeds.
The edible part of the seed is simply delicious in my opinion and is edible raw according to my expeience. One freind said it's the best seed she's eaten and the taste reminds me of un-sweetend vanilla icecream. The mesocarp is a bit acidic and astringent and not so good in my opinion, probobly good dye.
Here are some images of the Okari seed:
