Sizes Of Normal Sugar Apple And Big Sugar Apple
« on: August 16, 2012, 09:26:13 PM »
Greetings,

I found this interesting photo of a Normal size SA next to a Big SA (from Taiwan):

And I wonder if FGM or Mike could still compete here?  8)

It needs to be thrown on the scales because pix can be deceptive but it sure looks good.I wonder if there is a feather of atemoya blood (sap) about it.Give me a little time thera as the 2 poxy outa season ones can't compete with that.My last one had only 7 seeds and was very sweet without too much grit. These characters need to be considered as well.

Very true, Mike, about pix. But if you factor in the size of the hands, you gotta admit that that was some sugar apple!

I think I've read somewhere that a cross back between a sugar apple and an atemoya would be very deceiving, worthless.

So, I guess we'll have to wait 7-8 more months before we get to see your bad boys?

The one on the left looks under-pollinated too. It may be easier to tell if she wrapped her fingers around the fruits.

Thera that tree is on a crash course in fruit production.I am about to race to the yard and threaten with the axe unless there is immediate and bountiful action.

Noel, your picture here has been haunting me since you posted it a few weeks ago.
