Tropical Fruit Discussion / Carie Mango Graft Breaking thru after 4 Day's?

Hello Gang;

I just noticed this Carie graft Breaking thru the parafilm after 4 days, I have a very active Carie mango & I collected some prime bud-wood as the buds on it where ready to explode!, but not flushed yet.

Today as im walking in my front door, i noticed that lil bud broke thu the tape ;)..
This would be my 1st Mango Graft that took, if it lives.

Do you Grafting experts think that its possible to get a Graft to take after 4 Days ?

Today i visited Adam At Flying Fox & picked up a Spirit of 76, LZ, Rosigold & Simmonds Cado.
I got To Plant The S76 Before night set in & the Mosquitos started to come out ;).

Tropical Fruit Discussion / VP Mango Recovering After Harsh SE Florida Winter.

Hello Gang;

This VP Mango was in ground this last winter, tree was covered before frost hit and got wacked preety good.
I had to PUG it for the 2nd time, the tree didnt respond to the pugging a few weeks after.
I decided to dig it up & inspect the root system, the roots looked healthy nice & white.
I potted the VP added fresh soil and placed it in the Green House, a few weeks after that new Growth emerged !, Its Alive.... This tree has taken a beating and keeps comming back.

‘Carla’ has pick dates from February through early June.

Just Bought afew Avocados in a Latin Market called Unidos in Kissimmee Florida.
I go there to buy Good tasting produce that cant be found in NE Florida.

These Avocados taste awesome !...they kinda look like Simmonds but smaller.

Hello Gang;

I have a Carie mango Tree inside my green house , in full bloom .
Its been afew month and i dont see any Mangos forming.
The Green house is opened in the morning in order for the pollinating insects to enter the GHrr.

Its the 2nd bloom in 1 year, the 1st bloom produced Mangos.

Should i tip the tree or let it run its course?

Hello Gang;

Yesterday I visited my aunt in Kissimmee FL , on my out back home I decided to stop by a Latin super market called UNIDOS , there I picked up some Avocados from the DR , some Mangos from Peru & I noticed a Jar filled with Guanabana Pulp & it had seeds !.

My Wife Bought 3 Jars  Colombian Gigante Guanabana  Pulp ! I started to clean & soaked the seeds over night & I am about to plant those bad boys.
According to My Mother in-law these are super sweet Guanabanas & weigh upto 10lbs , I have seen these Colombian Guanabanas Via photos & when My wife does SKYPE with my mother in-law , there amazing !.

Lets see if I can sprout a few & compare them to the Guanabana trees a have bought here in Florida & the ones that my family members have sent me from PR.

I will post some pics up in a few minutes..

Hello Gang;

Today I uncovered my trees, the Mango trees where well covered with The Planket , still some or most of the Leaves have a brownish hue due to the cold , I think the Mango survived but we have to see what happens with them in the next few weeks.

My Lula Avocado tree was also covered and looks just like new , shes a champ !.
My Citrus covered & uncovered look like new.

My Guanabanas dropped all leaves.
My Bananas has burnt leaves but the PS is green on the inside so they are alive.

Everything in the GH is doing Great , I just opened up the vents for fresh air.

I'm really impressed with my 15ft Avocado tree seedling , it was not covered and looks great !.

I am worried about the browning of my Mango trees.

Hope every ones trees made it..

I will post pics tomorrow .

Up here in NE Florida , wind chill last night thru this morning feels 19-20f
Trees look ok but its to early to tell the degree of Damage .
Was only able to cover a few trees out of Many .

What ever survives this winter will be the Only thing I will be growing for next season .

Its my attempt at Multi-Grafted Lemon zest & CC Mango ;).
Got a good feeling on both Cleft grafts , good fit & this seedling will be indoors for about 1 month to see if both Grafts take .

Its by my kitchen window ..

Just noticed my Carrie Blooming again , this tree fruited this past summer .
It looks like a bloom and not vegetative growth .

What do you guys thing ? is it a boom ? if so I think I will place my Green house over it to protect it from Jan & Feb Cold snaps in NE Florida.

All my other Mango trees are sleeping with no activity , except for my VP , shown no stopping , still flushing new growth.

Should I fertilize it cause its still active or just let it be until the spring ?
I did give my trees alil folar spray .
