It's rained enough in North Broward to finally get water in the dry canals, it should get the water table back up to normal I hope.

But, I'll go easy on the issue, some are still in a dust bowl :-(

I hope that you all get some.

Lawns are over rated and don't taste as good.

Lawns and mango trees are antagonists. I want rain for my lawn to green it up but rain makes for split mangoes and dilutes  mango sugars-sweetness. Few years back/maybe three/ it was dry the whole time the mangoes were maturing and the sweetness got nice and concentrated. From mid season onward my nam doc mai fruits tasted complex like regular "Florida" mangoes.

I am an indentured servant to my HOA and they want green lawns.
I know another 40 year old development near me that laid sprinkler lines for all houses when it was being constructed. So 2-3 times a week your lawn gets watered whether you like it or not. All the houses have white concrete tile roofs. If you need a new roof it must be replaced with the same white tiles. No asphalt or poly shingles allowed. The other permissible option is to get a spray on concrete coating that renews old concrete tile roofs. This goes for about $4000. One old roofer tells me insurance companies are skeptical of this concrete overlay process.

Lawns should be banned by Federal law :-) They consume our most precious resource, add to ground water contamination from fertilizers, and give nothing in return.

Perennial flowering ground cover would require less water, look better and give bees something to thrive on.

BAN THE LAWNS TODAY! :-)

Your garden department at your local Home Depot at University and Atlantic is doing great this year because your Coral Springs code inspectors are on the warpath. What did you say your address was? BTW 40 years ago Johnny Carson used to fly down to Coral Springs to help the developers sell houses. I am looking for my copy of the old Coral Springs newspaper that has _Here's Johnny!_ doing this with a full one page advertisement.

I like this. I let my yard go to wild flowers in the spring. I have been dropping seed for years now. Blanket flowers do the best for me.  This is from last year.
