How's the fruit quality of your vines?

Thanks for posting a picture of the leaves! I am also interested in fruit quality as this hybrid is typically grown more for the flowers then for its fruit. Is the flavor superior to the ones found with three lobes? Is it a different flavor altogether?

Interesting.
I had no idea this was a hybrid.. or that it was determined by leaf lobes.
The immature leaves start as 3 lobed... but as the vine grows it starts producing 5 lobed leaves only
The bloom has a very intense color as compared to the common Maypop "Incarnatas"... which tend to be much paler in color.
I would say the fruit is typical in size, flavor and abundance.
I have used it as a pollinator for my "Ruby Glow" passionflowers.

Yes, there are also other characteristics that I notice. if I am not mistaken, it seems to be a hybrid of passiflora incarnata and passiflora cincinnata called passiflora incense. The intense color comes from cincinnata and if you were to look at the leaves at the base of your flower buds, they are pronounced unlike passiflora incarnata, which would require closer inspection to even notice it. Very cool pictures!

A few years ago I was riding through my neighborhood and saw this plant sprouting up through-out my neighbors front yard.
I was taken by the intense color and stoped to ask if I could have a few pieces.
Turns out it was student rental property and the tenants had been mowing it back all summer.
They consented and I dug up several sprouts.
Glad I did...because now it looks like the management company has finally rid themselves of that insidious weed.
And now it flourishes in my backyard... and I have some to share.
