Interesting Fruit Shapes
« on: April 14, 2023, 01:32:20 AM »
Here's some fruits that seemed interesting to me.
I purchased the Honey Pomelo fruit. The other fruits are from my trees.

I wanted to compare the taste again of the Honey Pomelo fruit and the Sumo so I bought some Sumo and tasted it as well.

I liked this Honey Pomelo fruit much better than the ones from the Asian market I purchased back in Nov-Dec that were much larger (3-5lbs each) for the Chinese Moon Festival. This Honey pomelo fruit has some sweetness, no acid/tartness, and the flesh is firm. But compared to the Sumo, it was no match, the Sumo was 2x as sweet and the flesh also has the firm texture. This Honey pomelo has a much more long neck than the ones I purchased from the Asian markets.

My lisbon lemon seems to have some weird shaped fruits on the tree, this one looks like fingers.

My p. edulis passion fruit has both the egg shaped and round shaped fruits. Taste is the same as others like the Frederick, Red Rover, Purple Possum.

If you have some strange shaped fruits, I would like to see them, please post below.

Wow, mangoba, I like the color (shades) on your citrus, is that an orange or mandarin? What variety is it?

Is that a conjoed twin melons? I had the fingered sumo which had 11 separate parts/fruit envelopes and should have been a world size record, but the Guinness World Records never got back to me.

I think it's a Nova mandarin which is grown commercially here. It almost looks fake  :)

Yes a twin melon

Fingered Sumo! That's insane.
