Potassium--when to use and how much to use on cherimoya or atemoyas. I have a grafted African pride tree. This is my 2econf year in the ground. How much potassium to use during fruiting stage. A teaspoon, tablespoon, or cup? How best to deliver it? Dilute in water or just drop the salt? Will too much cause damage or death to the tree?

Your tree looks nice, has it not been getting fertilizer at all? You should use a balanced fertilizer with micro nutrients. Gro power avo citrus 8-6-8 is what I put on all my trees. I put a fist full or so a few times a year. They sell it at walter andersons.

My local store has this Gro Power Avo Citrus 8-6-8 fert. how often do you fertilize and ratio?

What potasium salt are you using? KCl?
I think cheaper and safer source of potassiim is the wood ash.
Just make a small fire with clean wood ,collect the ash and you can add a little to the tree.

I would worry using KCl I much prefer to use potassium nitrate if I need soluble K just obviously be aware it adds N.
Iv often wanted to do the ash and coal thing but always worried it will make the soil super alkaline? Do you know if that is true?

If you've ever seen a brush fire you've seen ashes being spread and how plants regrow afterwards. I have never seen adverse reactions using a double handful per square meter. I wouldn't use it on trees or plants which are known to love acid soils. If your soil is known to be acidic, some wood ash can temporarily help lower the pH.
