I would say soursop. If they are mature enough that can handle 20s for a couple of days, at least mine have.
Don’t rush, take time and enjoy life and food.

They both handle winters here in Miami well, but I think mangosteen is more cold sensitive. Mangosteen needs high humidity too.

I think Mangosteen, because when we hit 35 Deg. in Tampa my Guanabana died to the trunk.

Would say soursop. They grow here, I even had one grow pretty well on my frost pocket property (lost leaves every winter). Have never seen or heard of mangosteen here.

Soursop is more cold tolerant.
It's grown all over South Florida.

It's very rare to find a mangosteen trees even amongst enthuiasts like us.

I have a seashore mangosteen approaching 7 ft. (that looks shitty) and has been in the same place for the last couple years...coincidentally next to my two miracle fruit trees and my dwarf betel nut tree. I'm off work for a while so I'm going to get some serious nutrition going on for these babies.

Seashore is a totally different animal than Purple in terms of requirements! We have plenty of Seashore Mangosteen trees fruiting here in SFL, yet only one individual (Bill Whitman) supposedly fruited a Purple Mangosteen tree outdoors in the entire continental USA.

They both have more or less the same cold tolerance, problem is Mangosteen is 10x more picky about the soil and humidity...in Humid South Florida it will not put any growth in the winter months (Dec - Mar) when it gets "dry" (50% vs 90%) and temps dip below 70F every day/night. Even Soursop is deciduous here losing most or all of its leaves in those months.

This must be a trick question. Soursops are way more cold tolerant and I would be surprised if any outdoor mangosteen has fruited in Florida. They rarely grow poleward of 20 latitude with a few oceanic climate exceptions and its more like 30 latitude for soursops.

Soursops are far more heat and low humidity tolerant as well. The coastal humid climate where I am moderates maximum temps unlike inland from me. Lat spring in November a run of days at my place over 40c,including 2 days at 44c saw mangosteens wilt and some leaves scorched brown but soursops showed no ill effects. Previous rain and it being humid probably helped.
