fish worts has the cure for it. here's study 10yrs ago that was done on mice curing coronavirus. it grows like weed.
It is my #1 asian herbs beside basil and Vietnamese coriander.   I wrap all the three herbs in a spring roll. I can eat about 1lb of herbs each spring roll meal.  have not had a flu for the past 5yrs.

Great looking fruit! It’s obvious a seedling of the seeds of Birula I sold you.

Thanks JF for confirming. It's about 4yrs.  I am starting to enjoy the fruit of my had labor and thanks to your seeds.   It definetly does not look like those fruits that lady's hand.
I don't know if the Yucatan annona seeds I got from you are germinating.  Haven't really seen it it.

JF, your comment state birula is the best out of all of them. Mom said it is the best anonna she has eaten, better than the one she had in Asia.

Raulglezruiz,

that is good to hear. Mom said it is the best anonna she has eaten.

Tree is still small now and I'm going to graft it other seedlings.   It it is about 4yrs old from seed.  I think next year, I will be able to trade with folks.

In our dialect, ni-na (long i) is sugar apple.

I will name  it after myself which is also in line with our dialect :   ky-na.

scratch the lower part of the trunk, if you see green, it is still alive and good.

Spaugh,
I have it too. They are very scary to use.  Even I feel unfordable setting up the baits in it.  Sorry afraid to get my hand accidentally caught in it. Not sure if anyone ever got their hands caught in it

You really need to hide it out of the way for dogs and cats.  They can get seriously injured.

I like the cage as I don't have to worry around my little dog, or neighbors cats , or my siblings kids.

I think it is the same logic like cherry or apple trees.   They don't flowers and set fruits in all year round warm climate.  My cousin has a cherry tree in Souther LA over ten years already, it does not every bear fruit.   The tree looks nice and green, but no fruits.

TucsonKen,
Sounds pretty complicated in having to try to get the rat into a bag while it is still alive.  I don't even want to touch it.

The rat, very large, some how managed to squeeze it's body halfway thru the one of the cage's side hole. I don't know how it did it. And  I happen to be doing some work around there  and .... just as Spaugh suggest. happens very quick within split seconds.

sorry SeaWalnut, not the result you wanted to hear.

Tommyng,

I have about 10+ seedlings that are bearing fruits. Mom said that is the best tasting fruit out of the entire batch.  Very chewy, sweet, acidic, and flavorful, not that many seeds.  Fruiting first time this year, There is just one fruit and gave it to mom.

birth of a new anonna variety. Started from seeds a few years ago. Tree is still small, produce only 1 fruit this year size of my small fist. I gave it to my mom and she said the best she ever had. Lots of flavor and chewy.   I am going to graft it onto other trees.

I'm not sure if it was from JF's seeds or I bought it from ebay sales  that was advertised as this:

Well then there is this special method that a colleague uses, sew up his anus and set him free, and he'll scare all the other rats away.

Sounds like a war time tactics that was used to have get your captive send back messages to their troops.   Did it work for his friend?   I have heard of other stories where people purposely starve squirrels and let them free to get it send massages to their family not to mess with people.

In Wuhan they don't burn them. They have a market where they cut and grill them. They are very rich in protein.

Will resort to that when D-day comes.  Right now, still not panicking. Plenty of food to eat.  Got  the fruit trees and garden. I will add a 1foot pond to the bottom of the greenhouse which I will be growing fish and lotus. The lotus are starting to come back from the winter.  Will make sweet and sour soup with young lotus shoots.    This will allow me to easily water the potted mangos and soursop trees.

different animals , different fate.  Like locust, rats are just pests and have no benefits to us other then giving us the plague.
I would sent the rat to these countries if I could to help with detonating landmines.  https://www.apopo.org/en

If I release it somewhere else, someone is going to have the same issues .  I rather get rid of the rats for good. It's either me or them.  They already done so damage already by chewing my house and electrical wires, and the potential to spread disease. There is zero benefits I can think of that the rats can contribute to us here. It is wrong to kill a horse sine it provide so many benefits to people .

68
I catch and release them.
In fact i even released otther people rats from traps without them knowing.

Not a good idea. They will come back and eat all my cherimoya and other fruits. They even start chewing on the barks of the Bear limes.

I was thinking of starting a wood fire and throw it into the fire. Just like the Wuhan cremation.  Everything all gone and disappear including any viruses too.  Has anyone done this?  Is it going to work? I like it to burn into dust and use it for fertilizer.

69
Caught a rat in the cage last night and it is still alive. How do I kill it without touching it?

I drown them in a bucket or something larger if needed. I usually throw the dead rats in a field by my house so something else can eat it or bag it and trash it.

I once threw it into the black trash bin thinking that it would die in a few days in the heat in black bin. I was so wrong. It chewed through the top of the bin. I don't remember if it die in the bin or not, but I noticed a big hole at the top where the lid that is close to the handle.
